Hear from a participant:

“The main decision factor to join the sparring program was based on my

early experiences at the club.

At that time, I sparred for less than a minute and was completely spent.

It’s not only the physical strain that sapped my energy, the mental strain

drew equal measures.

So, the real challenge to me was could I step in the ring for three two-minute rounds and compete effectively.  My personal evaluation was that in order to compete effectively, the fitness component would have to be an automatic. I needed to be fit to the point that I wasn’t concerned that I would run out of energy.

The training and coaching that this program provided helped me reach a fitness

level that I did not have, and the sparring helped prepare me mentally for the test.

A very worthwhile experience.“
